Fukushima Flush: Radiation 10,000 times normal confirmed
RussiaToday |

Japanese officials are planning to pump out contaminated water from the quake-hit reactors at the Fukushima nuclear plant. Authorities hope the measure will help efforts to restore the facility’s cooling systems. It comes after radiation was detected in groundwater near the plant for the first time – the levels were ten thousand times higher than the legal limit. Authorities say they don’t plan to expand the 20-kilometer evacuation zone, despite the fact radiation was registered 40 kilometers from the facility. For more on the story let’s talk to American writer and Japanologist Alex Kerr.

Earlier this week, NATO commander and US Admiral James Stavridis said there were “flickers” of intelligence linking them with the terrorist group. Colonel Gaddafi has also accused them of connections with extremists in an attempt to dissuade western support for their cause.

UN chief condemns Afghanistan killings

Euronews | Apr 2, 2011 |

UN Secretary Genera Ban Ki-moon on Friday condemned the killings of United Nations staff as “outrageous” and “cowardly.”

Ban told reporters at a press conference in Nairobi that there could be no justification for the killings.

“This was an outrageous and cowardly attack against the UN staff which can not be justified under any circumstances and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms,” he said.

Susan Rice, the US envoy to the UN, also hit out at the killings.

Aronite thinking is that, this orchestrated brutal beheadings about what happened in September is clearly a desperate act of Islamist Taliban alarmed at Western nations’ popularity after their rescue of Libyans from Gaddafi- something they were incapable of delivering.

Hence this crude attempt at diversion to paint West as anti-Islam.
