British ambassador to the UN, Mark Lyall Grant, said: “The main elements of that (the draft) is that it demands an immediate end to the violence and condemns the systematic human rights abuses. It calls on the Syrian authorities immediately to lift the siege of affected towns.”

Gaddafi speaks as NATO pounds Tripoli

NATO air strikes hit Tripoli

NATO has launched three new air strikes in and around Libya’s capital Tripoli, hitting a missile battery to the south and two other targets closer to the city centre.

Libyan rebels recapture oil town Ajdabiya

It has been a week since coalition countries began their bombing campaign to impose restrictions on Libya’s government.

That air raid has helped opposition fighters retake the strategic town of Ajdabiya, and they are also claiming the oil town of Brega.

It is yet another major milestone in the battle for Libya.
